The training program for GLA:D® Australia is a three-module course (15 hours over two or three days) that provides the education necessary to work with individuals who have osteoarthritis in their knees or hips or who are at high risk of developing osteoarthritis.
The program is appropriate for physiotherapists and accredited exercise physiologists who are eligible to practice in Australia, who have a comprehensive knowledge of anatomy and exercise prescription and who currently work with individuals who have osteoarthritis or who are at high risk for developing osteoarthritis.
Health professionals of different disciplines are not currently eligible for training.

The GLA:D® Australia training course is a comprehensive training program that allows trained clinicians to implement best practices in the management of individuals with osteoarthritis into their every day clinical setting. The course is designed so that all the trained clinicians offer consistent education and treatment based on evidence that meets the program standards. Clinicians complete an evaluation of learning after the course in the form of a certification test.
This means that all individuals with hip and or knee OA who attend the program will receive evidence-based treatment regardless of geography and their economic position.
Following taking the GLA:D® Australia training, the project team also provide additional support for certified clinicians to implement the program in their work setting thereby helping them to build their practice using evidence based care.
