In collaboration with Curtin University researchers, we are looking at the feasibility of expanding the delivery of GLA:D® Australia to include Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEPs). If successful, this expansion will help more people around Australia to access the program, and enhance the capabilities of multi-disciplinary clinics to offer the program.
The pilot involves a cohort of AEPs who completed the current training and certification process in the July 2022 training course, evaluation of registry outcomes when GLA:D® is delivered by AEPs, and an opportunity for AEPs to participate in qualitative research to ensure the program meets their education and training needs to provide high quality care to Australians with hip and knee osteoarthritis.
This will then inform the roll-out of the training to Australia AEPs.
The cost to AEPs will be the same as for physiotherapists completing training and initial certification.
AEPs can subscribe to register their interest in future training opportunities, which will be available from April 2023.
